About Us

Habitat Planning’s founder Steven Young is a Certified Wildlife (The Wildlife Society) with over 20 years of professional wildlife management and field research experience.

After having a very interesting early career working field research jobs studying ducks, seabirds, whales, fish, and more in such  New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador Canada, the North Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Alaska, the Bering Sea, and Washington State.  During this time, I also operated Poor Persons Photo  in Washington State.

After working field research projects for 6 years, Steve worked at Fraser Papers Environmental specialist with Fraser Papers, (a pulp and paper mill complex in New Brunswick Canada and northernmost Maine) for 8 years working on water quality monitoring, landfill monitoring, and ambient air quality monitoring.  Operated Young’s Photography as a part-time business beginning in 1988.

Wildlife Biologist for the Fraser Papers in New Brunswick, Canada, and Maine for 12 years, responsible for all wildlife management on the 2 million acres of Fraser-managed forest land in Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.  The Wildlife Biologist position was eliminated in 2004, when Fraser decided to sell their forest land.
